In celebration of Cee-Jay Trociuk's birthday
It’s 26 days till my birthday and I’m wanting to do something a little different. In honour of me turning 24, I would love to donate money to Vancouver B.C Children’s Hospital instead of any gifts or even birthday wishes. Here’s my story:
March 27th 1995
I was born 3 months premature. I was supposed to be born in June. But decided March 27th was my day. So I came into the world at 2lbs 3oz. You can imagine my fight for my life. Both my mom and me were on our death beds but we made it. Somehow, someway we stayed strong and conquered the biggest fight of our lives. This past year I’ve done so much self reflection and looked back at how far I’ve come to now. And I thought what an amazing reason give back to a foundation that hits close to home and something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. (Since I was a little girl). I’ve always wanted to give back because I’m forever grateful for this life, my life, my moms life and I can’t even begin to put into words how grateful I am for all the nurses, doctors, staff, and the whole hospital for the countless hours they spent with me and my mom. Because of everyone there, I’m alive today. My mom is alive. And I’m so blessed. So today, I share this message because well it sure feels good to give back, and what better way to celebrate my birthday by doing this. Thank you for your time and appreciate you ❤️😌
Donations will be used to support the hospital through the Excellence in Child Health Fund, ensuring important initiatives like research into childhood diseases, medical equipment purchases and upgrades, and staff and family education programs are funded to enhance care to BC’s sickest children.
