On July 8th 2023, LooPS are going to break the Guinness World Record for most concerts played in 12 hours (cities) - current GWR is 8

First off, THANK YOU for reaching our fundraising page!! No matter how much you donated today, it helps and is beyond appreciated!! If you are curious about the fundraiser but have not yet donated, please consider, even if only a few dollars, and read below to learn more about our initiative and why we are doing this.

Please know that every donation through this site will also be provided an official document from the BCCHF to be used for your taxes next year and EVERY PENNY is going to the BCCHF!

WHAT WILL THE RECORD ATTEMPT CONSIST OF?

The record attempt will take place on July 8th, 2023. Starting at 10am in Squamish and ending with the record 9th cities concert finished by 10pm in Langley.

STOP 3   12:45PM   ABBOTSFORD  MSA Ford   

STOP 4     2:00PM   BURNABY  Coastal Ford Burnaby

STOP 5     3:20PM   CHILLIWACK  Dukes Country Pub 

STOP 6     4:45PM   RICHMOND  Long and McQuade  

STOP 7     6:00PM   MISSION  Corona's Mexican Restaurant

STOP 8     7:20PM   DELTA  Riverhouse Restaurant

STOP 9     8:35PM   LANGLEY  Poseidon Greek Restaurant 

There will be 2 witnesses at all times, in 4 hr shifts, covering the 12 hrs. Each "concert" will meet all GWR requirements, including 15 minutes in length, no less then 31miles from the previous city, and a detailed route has been assigned to make the record possible. There are also a minimum of 10 tickets required to be sold for each show and all ticket sales will also be going to the BCCHF and this fundraiser specifically. At each location, 10 donors will receive one of the 10 specially printed "Official World Record" tickets, which will be dated, signed by both Jon and Kevin, the donation amount listed and can be kept as a keepsake! You can donate for each location to obtain a ticket, that is also fine. We just need 10 people at each stop and 10 tickets sold MINIMUM. We hope everyone can donate, each place is packed to see us complete another stop in the attempt, and you all can share this with your friends, family, social circles etc to get as much hype and buzz on this event as possible!!

It is important to know that LooPS want to raise as much money as possible for the BCCHF and LooPS are not taking any money from the fundraising efforts. Any money raised at the locations prior to the date of the attempt will be donated by the location themselves in their name to this same page! Anyone who wishes to donate any of their their time as a volunteer (whether the day of at the locations, or beforehand to fundraise and help with promoting the event) can reach us anytime at info@officialloops.com. 

WHY A WORLD RECORD, AND WHY THE BCCHF?

If you are here, and are not yet aware of why we are attempting (and breaking) this record, we want to share how important the BC Children's Hospital is to us and the impact it has had on our lives. When we decided to break this particular world record as a fundraising initiative, the BCCHF was the most obvious option. One half of LooPS, Kevin Roy, has 2 nieces who suffer from Cystic Fibrosis and have spent a large portion of their lives being treated in the BC Childrens Hospital. Kevin also had previously lost a younger brother who died at the age of 6 after spending much of his life at the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital, fighting a disease he was born with called Kostmann Syndrome. Kevin was only 18 when his brother passed away, and was not at the point in his life where he could help to the level he wanted to thank the hospital for all the good they did for his brothers quality of life. Now, as a grown man the stars have aligned to allow Kevin, along with his bandmate Jon Fennell, to help the hospital which is currently doing everything possible to make his nieces lives better! 

The BCCH effects everyone throughout BC, and as full time musicians LooPS have encountered people in numerous cities throughout the province who are touched personally by the incredible job that the hospital does. LooPS felt that breaking a world record, and in particular one that requires them to play a concert in the most cities over a 12 hour period, symbolizes how the hospital does not just impact the community it is based in, but communities all over the region, the province, and western canada as a whole!
