Carter is ready to donate his 13" ponytail!

Hello Everyone,

Many of you already know, but in case you don't, my son, Carter, set out to grow his hair two years ago so he could raise money and donate his hair to make wigs for children suffering with cancer. I have witnessed him be teased by both family and friends, strangers comment on him needing a haircut, people of all sorts calling him a girl, and through it all Carter maintained that he wanted to do this and he really didn't care what anyone else had to say about ...it. I am beyond proud of him and his determination to complete what he put his mind and heart to! I have no doubt he can do anything in his life. Carter is now ready to cut and donate his 13" ponytail, but also wants to raise at least $3000 to donate to Wigs for Kids (a parternship of the BC Children's Hospital). He says that the person who contributes the largest donation will be invited to cut off his ponytail on June 2, 2017 (Carter's 10th birthday!) Thanks for taking the time to read this far and consider making a donation in support of Carter. From his very proud Mom, Pam Puska.

Wigs for Kids BC (W4K BC) helps kids living with cancer, live better.

A proudly volunteer-run organization, W4K BC provides funding to cover the cost of custom-made human-hair wigs for children and teens at BC Children's Hospital who have suffered hair loss due to cancer treatment or other serious illnesses. Donations to W4K BC also help families pay for medications and feeding supplies that are essential for treatment but not covered by their medical plan.

When a child has a serious illness it takes an enormous toll on the entire family–both emotionally and financially. The assistance W4K BC provides makes the family's burden a little lighter so they can focus more of their time and energy on caring for their sick child.

By contributing to W4K BC, you are making a tremendous difference in the lives of children living with cancer - and their families - across the province. Thank you for your support.
