RBC Race for the Kids

Kuz of Kate

Hard to believe 10 years ago Kate was born with a heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus.  Her heart had one main artery, where as a normal heart has two; pulmonary and aorta.

On May 08th 2017 she underwent her 4th open heart surgery replacing her conduit with a larger one, to support her future growth.

The surgeries have been a huge success and she is a happy healthy girl.  Kate loves the arts and is very creative.  She loves listening to music and sings loud and proud and dances to her own tune.  Kate lives life to the fullest everyday.

The run is a special event for our family.  This will be our 10th year participating, and to-date our team has raised just under $90,000.  Our involvement with the foundations annual event is our only way to show gratitude for everything BC Children's Hospital and it's dedicated staff have done, and continue to do everyday.

Please join us on Sunday, June 2nd for a 2km or 5km walk, run, jog through Queen Elizabeth Park, followed by a fun-filled carnival for kids of all ages.  Our team is made up of family, friends and people from our community.

Please support the cause by joining us on event day, or by being a virtual team member, or making a monetary donation.
